Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on the M1 Motorway between Kariong and Somersby.

From April 27, the upgraded and widened northbound section of the motorway will be permanently opened to three lanes.

For the safety of workers and road users the existing speed limit of 80km/h will remain in place while finishing works are carried out, including grinding of the existing concrete road surface to provide safer, smoother journeys.

The full upgrade is expected to be opened to traffic at 110km/h by mid-2020, weather permitting.
