Flavours by the Sea cancelled

Central Coast Council has cancelled its Flavours by the Sea celebration as COVID-19 precautions come into effect around the Coast.

A spokesperson for Council said the decision to cancel the event, which celebrates Harmony Day and the region’s cultural diversity, was made based on current recommendations from State and Federal Governments.
The event was meant to take place on March 21.

“Council will actively be implementing all Federal and State Government requirements during the Coronavirus pandemic and will assist NSW Health in sharing critical information to the Central Coast community.

“This decision was not made lightly, however Council’s core priority is the health and wellbeing of the Central Coast community.

“Council understands that this necessary decision will be disappointing to many people and apologises for any inconvenience caused by the cancellation.

“Council will be reviewing other upcoming Council events and provide regular updates as further information becomes available,” the spokesperson said.
