The redevelopment of Umina Skate Park is unlikely to start before the new financial year in July.

Council recreation manager Mr Brett Sherar said Council was awaiting the funding agreement for the upgrade at the Peninsula Recreation Precinct.
“We are currently waiting to receive the funding agreement from the Australian Government.

“Once this agreement has been finalised, Council can schedule the proposed works and confirm a start and completion date.
“It is anticipated that works will commence next financial year,” Mr Sherar said.

Mr Sherar’s statement comes after Council recently announced its regional skate competition, Central Coast Series, would return to Umina Skate Park in March.
Council released its Umina Skate Park and Peninsula Recreation Precinct Redevelopment Phase Four Concept Design Report in September, which included finalised concept designs.

According to the project page on the Your Voice Our Coast website. a detailed design plan should be released prior to construction but no release date has been specified.
