The Choosing Hope Walk, an initiative of Bears of Hope Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support, was held at Saltwater Creek Reserve, along the Long Jetty Foreshore, on October 14.

Bears of Hope are a not for profit support service dedicated to guiding families through the difficult decisions associated with the loss of a baby. The Choosing Hope Walks are a fundraising initiative of Bears of Hope that allows the organisation to continue to offer support services to bereaved families and to deliver their namesake teddy bears to families who recently lost a loved one. Bears of Hope facilitate many walks across the country throughout October, which coincides with Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Month. The Central Coast Walk was a gentle 3.5km stroll along the Long Jetty Foreshore, which commenced from Saltwater Creek Reserve and concluded at Picnic Point, The Entrance. The event allowed local families to connect with one another, share their stories and most importantly, remember the lives of their lost loved ones. The Central Coast event raised $14,553 as of October 25.
