Politicians need to connect with their electorate

ForumsForums

[Forum] Where are the politicians of yesteryear? Politicians such as Tony Doyle, Malcolm Brooks and Barry Cohen.

These local members served their local people and community with the added bonus that they loved their towns and communities. This connection with the electorate is often missing these days. Candidates are often flown in to secure votes, sometimes high flyers with no relation to the community. This is the rub. Politics is looked on as a game or a career, rather than being the people’s representative.
