Students to represent region in NSW Championships

Eight exceptional athletes fromGorokan High School will represent the Greater Sydney region in the NSW Championships, after qualifying for their sporting events at the Sydney North Carnival.

Keegan Phillips will represent the Coast as part of the Greater Sydney team for golf. Gabrielle Shaw will represent in hockey. Reegan Peterson and Jesse Rigby will represent in lawn bowls, and, Jack Morrison, Michael Whitton and Jacob Tauraki, in rugby league. When announcing the students who would be competing at the state level, Gorokan High School Principal, Mr Sam Ricketts, gave special mention to, Chailend Malinowski, who has been dominating in the gymnastics circuit this year. “Special mention goes to Chailend who came first in the Sydney North trials to progress to the state championships held in August. “On top of this fantastic school achievement, Chailend has competed at the national titles in Melbourne in the Level 8 Gymnastics competition, where she earned two golds and a silver medal along the way, to earn the title of Overall National Champion. “ Congratulations Chailend,” Mr Ricketts said.
