Central Coast Council has continued its temporary restriction of access to the rock platform at The Haven, Terrigal, following a rock fall on Wednesday, July 11.
It has also installed permanent signage at the site.
In a written statement following the rock fall, Central Coast Council said members of the public alerted Council staff that a small amount of rocks had fallen from the rock face.
“Rock falls of this nature occur naturally from time to time as a result of weather and wave action,” the media statement said.
“Council is restricting access to the rock platform until such time as it can access the area, investigate and make the area safe.
“Walking on or around this rock platform can be dangerous and Council has asked the community to stay away from the area until further notice.”
On July 17, Council announced it was maintaining its temporary restricted access to the rock platform at The Haven.
“Council will continue to investigate the site this week to determine the stability of the area and when the site will be reopened.
“While these assessments are underway, the public is advised to avoid the area.
“Permanent signage to warn visitors about the hazards of natural rockfall has been installed at the site.”
