Gorokan High School’s Open Girls Volleyball Team has been knocked out of the Sydney North Volleyball Knockout Competition.
The Gorokan team had a stellar run through the competition, notching up a string of victories all the way to the semi-finals. This made the Gorokan team one of the top four best Open Girls teams’ in NSW, a landmark achievement for the girls from Gorokan, of which none play volleyball competitively outside of school. “In their semifinal game, the girls, unfortunately, went down to a very strong and experienced Riverside Girls High School. “Their effort and attitude was extremely pleasing and the fact that the girls’ only experience is during school time, is truly inspirational,” Gorokan High School Principal, Mr Sam Ricketts said.
