Members of Wyong Women’s Bowling Club, have continued their long history of support for Wyong Hospital, with another generous donation to improve the comfort of patients and their loved ones.

Following their charity ay held late in 2017, the Club has donated three sofa bed chairs,
two high back chairs and two wheelchairs to the hospital. Medical Ward 1 (M1), Intensive Care Unit, the Rehabilitation Ward and Outpatients were all beneficiaries of the Club’s generosity.

Nurse Unit Manager of M1, Ms Aimee Palmer, said the donation would be greatly  appreciated by patients and their loved ones.

“M1 is the Geriatric Ward treating patients with age-related illnesses. “The nature of our
ward means that we are sometimes providing palliative and end of life care to patients and supporting their carers and family members,” Ms Palmer said.

“Sofa chairs enable family members to stay with their loved one during this time, which is important to the wellbeing of both the patient and their family.

The high back chairs, which are comfortable and adjustable chairs used during patient
rehabilitation, will also improve the comfort of patients,” Ms Palmer said.

Wyong Women’s Bowling Club President, Ms Dot Brook, visited Wyong Hospital with some of the other club members recently to see first-hand how their donation would be making a difference for staff and patients.
