Roads and Maritime Services undertook night road work on the Rip Bridge last week for “essential safety maintenance work”.
The work was carried out from Monday to Thursday from 7:30pm until 5am and is expected to continue until Friday, December 8, weather permitting.
Tree trimming and cleaning of the bridge deck took place “to ensure continued safe operation of the bridge”.
Single lane closures, traffic control, and a reduced speed limit of 40km per hour during work hours, will be in place for the duration.
Motorists were advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
