The Westpac Rescue Helicopter at Terrigal following an accident involving a cyclist and a utility

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter transported a 57 year old male cyclist from Terrigal to John Hunter Hospital on Tuesday, May 30.
The man was dragged along the road for approximately 200 metres on his bicycle by a utility.
It is believed that after an impact, the bike became tangled in rope on the utility.
The rider could not release himself as he was attached to the bike by clip-in pedals.
He was treated on the scene by an Ambulance Services NSW doctor and paramedic.
He was taken by helicopter to the John Hunter Hospital with substantial abrasions from the incident.
He was believed to be in a stable condition.
It is believed that the driver had no idea the man was being dragged behind him.
