Australia Day Celebrations kick off in Gosford on the evening of the 25th at Kibble park and continue all day across the city until night fall with fireworks and the traditional lantern display at Woy Woy water front.
A brief listing of official Australia Day activities are listed below.
Gosford – Celebrate Australia Day at our brand-new evening event in Kibble Park on Monday 25 January, followed by fireworks on in Gosford at 9pm.
Wagstaffe – Australia Day Celebrations (8am–10.30am)
Australia Day celebrations will begin at Wagstaffe from 8am, with an official ceremony (including a flag raising) and free breakfast.
Andrew Rourke – a local community member who is now a Commanding Officer of an Australian Customs patrol vessel – will be the guest speaker at this event, which is sponsored by Council and the Wagstaffe to Killcare Community Association.
Gosford – Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony (from 9.30am)
Council’s annual Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony will again take place at the Laycock Street Community Theatre.
Woy Woy Australia Day Celebrations (2pm–9.30pm)
Woy Woy’s waterfront will come to life from 2pm on Australia Day, with the celebrations going right through to a firework spectacular around 9.15pm.
Food and market stalls will line the streets, plenty of kid’s activities will be on offer and there will be live music, cultural and other community performances on the main stage. Star 104.5FM will be on site at the free event, which will also feature the annual Lantern Parade and cutting of the big lamington.
