Australian Independent Schools (AIS) will be encouraged to look upon St Philips Christian College at Narara as a case study for successful literacy and numeracy intervention.
“We had AIS consultant Ms Lynelle Campbell visit and review our performance data,” said St Philips deputy principal, Mr Malcolm East. “She expressed how impressive the improvement has been and as a result has recommended a number of the AIS schools to come and see how we do this,” Mr East said.
“We are particularly excited about this success as studies have shown that if you can address literacy and numeracy deficiencies by Year 2, then the students can be self-sufficient in their learning for the rest of their schooling life,” he said.
