MacMasters Beach and Copacabana
As part of the Dogs in Open Space Strategy, an environmental assessment has been undertaken of areas at Pippi Point – Davistown, Cochrone Lagoon – MacMasters Beach and Avoca Lagoon.
The findings of the assessment recommend dogs be excluded from areas which represent habitat for threatened species in the area (ie. the lagoon and immediate surrounds), while other areas will be marked as ‘No Dogs Allowed’ and ‘Dogs On Leash Only’.
Off-leash dog exercise will still be permitted in some areas.
Council has resolved that the environmental assessment and its recommendations be placed on public exhibition for 28 days.
