There will be a fireworks display in Gosford after all thanks to one of the major sponsors of the Central Coast Mariners, DMC Conveyor Services.
Locals from the southern part of the Central Coast have been expressing their displeasure on social media after the Council’s decision to hold the region’s only official fireworks display at The Entrance.
The Gosford fireworks display will occur after the Mariners NYE game at Industree Group (Central Coast) Stadium against Melbourne Victory on Saturday evening. Kick-off at 7 pm.
The in-form local team will be out for a big win on Saturday after their 1,0 defeat to league leaders Melbourne City on Tuesday evening. The Mariners currently are fourth on the IZU-Ute A-League ladder.
The New Year’s Eve match hosted by the Central Coast Mariners has been a family favourite fixture for the A-league team for over a decade.
The fireworks display will commence at approximately 9 pm, depending on the length of any match extra time.
The Gosford display will be entirely funded privately, without Central Coast Council contributions.
A Central Coast Council funded fireworks display and outdoor music festival will commence at 6 pm on New Year’s Eve at Memorial Park, with a fireworks display commencing at 9 pm. [See separate article details here]
