Local parents with school aged children are now eligible to receive $250 worth of vouchers to spend on accommodation and entertainment venues as part of a new Parents NSW program.
Eligible families will receive five $50 vouchers which can be redeemed at Discover NSW and Stay NSW registered businesses.
Premier Dominic Perrottet said the program was a big win for households and would help ease the cost of living for busy parents.
“This is all about thanking parents for their home-schooling efforts last year, helping make ends meet and supporting local businesses.
“Parents have persevered and balanced a variety of challenges as a result of home learning, and we are grateful for their hard work and sacrifices,” Perrottet said.
Parents NSW vouchers can be combined up to the value of $250 and applied to your accommodation bill or discover experience.
Customers can pool multiple Stay NSW vouchers with friends or family for the same booking at registered accommodation providers, big or small.
A Stay NSW voucher program, providing every adult aged 18 and older with a $50 voucher to spend at registered accommodation providers, will be progressively rolled out from February 21.
Both programs will be implemented using the existing Dine & Discover NSW infrastructure and can be applied via Service NSW.
Bookings made through third party providers such as online booking platforms and travel agents are not included in the program.
Participating businesses will be able to redeem vouchers seven days a week, including public holidays.

I’ve just been told by service n.s.w.that because my foster child (grandchild) is not on my Medicare card,(she has her own)I can not receive the $250 voucher,she lives with me 24/7 and has done for 10 years.HwThis is not fair!!Something needs to change!!
what about all of the people without school aged children who also made extraordinary sacrifices and worked hard right through this pandemic eg: hospital staff, essential workers etc. what do they get nothing extra. Sounds and smacks of descrimination to me (don’t have school aged children)
Must be an election coming up smells like pork barrelling to me.
