The traditional New Year’s Eve Races held at Gosford Racetrack aka The Entertainment Grounds will kick off at 12 noon today with a series of races set to excite locals and visitors looking for a fun filled family day of activities for children and adults.
While the gates open at 12 noon, the first race commences at 1.25 pm and the last race will start at 5:55 pm. See race program below.
The NYE races at Gosford has been a tradition that stretches back decades, and for many locals it is a punctuation of the year that was.
This last year has severely limited the public’s access to race tracks across the state yet it has not stopped racing, most races were held behind closed doors with only owners and trainers in attendance.
As a way of welcoming crowds back to the track. management has decided that there will be FREE ENTRY for residents of the Central Coast.
Some COVID restrictions will remain in place tonight, The Entertainment Grounds has made the decision to only allow patrons who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 into the venue until further notice. Other measures have also been introduced;
• All patrons 12 & over must wear a mask whilst indoors
• All patrons must check in via the Service NSW QR on entry to the racecourse
• A 2m2 rule has been implemented for all indoor settings
The Entertainment Grounds has arranged a series of activities for children big and small, including;
Pony Rides – Rock climbing – Kids Fashion on the field
A DJ and live band will also be present to entertain between race events.
