Body of boy found at North Avoca

A body, believed to be that of a boy missing in the water off North Avoca beach, was located on December 27.

At about 3pm on Tuesday, December 24, emergency services commenced a large-scale search operation following reports a 15-year-old teenage boy was missing in the water.

The search involved officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District, along with the personnel from the Marine Area Command, NSW Ambulance, Surf Life Saving NSW, Central Coast Council Lifeguards and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

At about noon on December 27, emergency services were called to North Avoca beach, following reports a body had been located in the water.

An operation is ongoing to recover the body, believed to be that of the missing boy.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
