October proved another busy month for Toukley Lions Club.
Aside from the weekly commitment to the Toukley Markets held each Sunday at Village Green Toukley and two barbecues at Lake Haven Bunnings, Toukley Lions also sponsored a team which competed in the Relay for Life held at Mingara Sporting Complex on Saturday, October 12.
The team raised more than $5,000 and contributed to the $100,000 raised for the event.
Lions also offered support by volunteering to operate a barbecue at the event, proceeds of which were included in the overall fundraising result.
On October 18, club members volunteered their services to support children competing in the Star Cup held annually at the Darren Kennedy Oval, Toukley, providing lunch for 160 children competing in a knockout football competition.
On October 29, Lions participated in a business forum held at The Ary Club where 18 businesses participated, and informative speakers highlighted their various fields of expertise in the business community.
The night was a huge success and a great networking event.
Toukley Lions are currently in negotiations with Central Coast Council in sponsoring a free family fun day to be held soon at Toukley.
This will be a spectacular event, and the biggest event attempted by Toukley Lions in many years.
