I was surprised by the story on moving a 477-tonne transformer from Victoria to NSW (Giant transformer on 1,000km trip to Colongra, CCN 425), not just because of the massive logistics involved, but also the fact that the thing was made right here in Australia.
It’s nice to see that we still have a manufacturing industry, despite the Liberal National Party’s record of importing faulty ferries, trams and trains etc because they’re cheap (and nasty).
Bring on more renewable energy; fossil and nuclear energy are dead technologies, but just don’t know it yet.
