Overwhelming response by local gardeners to enter competition

Central Coast Gardens are full of life

The response by local gardeners to enter the Gosford District Garden Competition has been overwhelming, president of the Gosford District Garden Competition Inc., Ms Dot Kite, said.
“Despite the unseasonal hot weather and lack of rain, gardeners from all areas of the former Gosford City LGA have been eager to showcase the results of their dedication and hard work in bringing their gardens to their peak in time for the judging.
“Most pleasing has been the school children who have been hard at work in their school gardens to have them in full production by mid-October,” Ms Kite said.
To enable members of the community to view the winning gardens, a full day coach tour has been arranged on Sunday, October 29, costing $25 per person.
For details, phone 4384 6127.
“This is a rare opportunity for members of the community to see beautiful prize winning Central Coast gardens, so phone today as seats are limited,” Ms Kite concluded.
The winners of the Gosford District Garden Competition will be announced at a presentation evening on October 27 in the Erina Room, opposite Erina Library.
