Police car in crash while responding to car fire

A police vehicle has been involved in a collision in Patonga on Thursday, July 13.
The police vehicle was responding to a car on fire off Patonga Rd, Patonga, at about 8:25pm, when it was struck by a third vehicle.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the scene and treated two senior constables who had been in the police vehicle – a 40-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman.
They were taken to Gosford Hospital where they are reported to be in a stable condition.
The 21-year-old man driving the third vehicle was not injured.
He was taken to Gosford Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
The car fire from the original incident was extinguished.
There was no one inside that vehicle.
The Crash Investigation Unit is investigating the collision and Brisbane Water Local Area Command is investigating the vehicle fire.
Inquiries are continuing on both incidents.
