Community plants out new Runway playground

Woy Woy Public School students learning about mulch and compost at the Runway

Community groups have mulched and planted hundreds of plants to create a community garden at the Runway Playground on Trafalgar Ave, Umina.
Over 300 seedlings were planted on March 7 by Umina Community Group members and students from Woy Woy South Public School.
Federal Member for Robertson Ms Lucy Wicks helped plant saplings and seedlings.
Landscaping and earthworks signalled phase two of the project, which aimed to deliver a modern park, playground and community green space.
A nearby early childhood centre also got involved and has its own patch set aside as an “early learning garden”.
