Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Primary School at Wyoming will be introducing the whole school to a public speaking program which will conclude with stage finals in Literacy and Numeracy Week on Friday, September 4.
Every teacher will teach and model for children the key components of public speaking during their English program for three weeks.
Two speakers from each class will be selected to compete in stage finals where medallions and certificates will be awarded for those judged to be the strongest public speaker.
School principal, Mr Frank Cohen said: “Public speaking is a very important skill that each student will need into the future and this will now feature as part of our curriculum for all students and not just those in year six.”
